Wonderful character development. The story was riveting, I could not put the book down until I got to the end. I will certainly be reading Trainor's other books. And I loved the setting being in Wisconsin.

A just-laid-off physics teacher, goes "up north," meets a winsome girl, and ends up fighting not bears but algae. And, yes, there are some gun-toting radicals thrown in. Well-crafted book until the end where the plot, although well-written, unfolds in a cliched fashion. This is, nonetheless, one of those hard-to-put-down books.

I enjoyed this book written by a local author who was featured at our Waupaca Library Book Festival. The book was a mystery that took place in northern Wisconsin and it kept me guessing until the very end.
