Well paced book, full of action and artfully created characters. The author draws you into a mysterious world from the first sentence. A fantastical world where humans, woodland creatures and technologically enhanced beings inhabit the same world. The antagonist, a "mad" scientist, and his minions are the perfect villians. I found Mike Ghere's "Broken Worlds: The Color of Change" to be an easy and entertaining read. I'd highly recommend it for anyone with middle school aged kids. And PARENTS, read along with them! It's got mystery, adventure, dwarves, mad scientists, inventors and time travel. A little bit of everything for everyoneI have a curse of not being able to put a book down when I start reading. This book was no exception. I had to force myself to put it away! Mr. Ghere draws you in and keeps you interest [...]

This is a great book for the tweens and early teens. I would place this in the genre of fantasy and putting in line as a book to read before a child takes on Harry Potter or the works of Tolkien.

Great characters make you care about what happens to them. The story keeps you interested and wanting to read more. Book 2 is supposed to be out soon.
